Bill became interested in guitar and folk music in high school and college. He bought his first guitar in 1962 and began tutoring with David Parker in Beaumont. Bill played in folk clubs in Texas and Virginia through 1969. In 1970 he was discharged from the Air Force and returned to school to get his BBA at Lamar and JD at St. Mary's University.

Bill set the guitar aside and practiced law for many years. A reunion of former friends and performers in Virginia brought him back to the instrument. He resumed playing guitar as a hobby in 1988 and performed annual duet recitals with Dr. William Graber through 1991. He has studied from time to time with Mayfly recording artist, Susan McDonald.

Bill is now retired from professional law practice and, among other interests, is an amateur classical guitarist who plays for private gatherings and charities. His guitar is a 1974 José Ramiriz.
